Place Called Home

As always Palmerton is a quiet little town consisting of many taverns, pizza resturants and small shops. You may want to try the cheese steaks from Joe's Place and Pizza from Tony's. I hear the Palmerton Hotel has excellent wings. If you need help with home projects the guys at Shea's Hardware is the place to go. And right next door Spillanes will fill your need with everything from candy, decor and craft supplies. There is also a 24 hour Convient Store and a brand new Family Dollar built in 2012. The Park is situated in the center of town and is the spot of local activity including bands and the Palmerton Hospital festival. And the South West Corner is now home to the Veterans Memorial. There is a mansion high ontop a hill that overlooks the town from the gap to the valley. The Palmerton area surrounding the town used to be home to large farm lands that not unlike most areas are dwindling. We have a bowling alley right next to Terry's car lot and we are home to the martial arts school which include the Rat Pack system of jujutsu. One cannot forget that when the season gets cold and the ground turns white, you can travel up to the Blue Mountain (Blue Mtn.) Ski area. People may call Palmerton many things as just a place to be, but to many of us, its a Place called Home.
